This was the view from our room.. Pretty sweet huh! Well at first we were going to stay in New Jersey but Instead I found a deal online and we stay in NYC! Ha ha ha so let me tell you a little bit about our hotel..First of all its called The Pod 51..The name should give it away cause we literally stayed in a room that was very very small! It had a bed and a sink that's it! Nothing else!!! I bet your wondering well what about a bathroom. Nope there was no bathroom in our room, it was out side our room around the corner! We had to share a bathroom with everyone else! Well let me tell you that was a new experience...But I was happy to have it...And don't worry it was like 4 single bathrooms with a toilet and a shower. It wasn't like I was showing next to some unknown stranger!!! Besides I didn't go to NYC to hangout in the hotel. We went to see the city! (and for Brents job)
The first place we went to after The Pod was this awesome bar called BXLCafe. It was a nice little bar right by the hotel and we met some pretty cool people too. One of the bar tenders spoke 5 different languages English being the 5th! I think that's pretty cool!
The next day we went to the World Trade Center Memorial. I could not even explain all the emotion I felt walking into that area and reading name of the people and heroes that lost their lives. It honestly felt peaceful but more than that.
It was really cool getting to see the new Trades Centers being built and being at ground zero even though so many lives were lost. And even though it is a tragic part of our history I was glad to be apart of it and see it. Because it shows no matter how hard someone knocks you down you can still get back up stronger.
It has been my dream for awhile now to go to Time Square and I was so happy I got to do it with my husband! It was a nice memory to make with him. But next time we make it to New York we are for sure going to see a Broadway show!
Now the subway was a adventure! After about the second time we road it we got use to it. But man it was a culture shock! I swear most of the people riding the subway/live in NYC are not from there...They are from different countries. It was really cool. Being from Colorado we are mostly made up of natives! So seeing all these people from different place was really awesome!
It was a great trip to take with Brent and it was a nice little break from the kids. I loved making these memories with my husband and I can't wait to do it again! The road trip was long but in the end it didn't matter cause I fulfilled one of my dreams and I got to experience something new! Life is short and I want to have as many adventure as I can with my loved ones!
Next stop California/Disneyland!
O and This time we are flying and the kids are coming :-)!
